Jon Miller works as an independent political consultant. Until January, he was the Field Director for U.S. Congressman Ric Keller managing all aspects of the Lake and Marion County parts of District 8. Additionally he has worked on many campaigns from President to municipal elections including President George W. Bush, Governor Jeb Bush, U.S. Congressman Ric Keller, Florida Representative Chris Dorworth, and Winter Park City Commissioner Doug Metcalf. Most recently he was the Seminole County Chairman for the Rudy Giuliani for President Campaign.
Jon was elected to his first term as Commissioner in the City of Casselberry in 2006 beating the incumbent who was a lifelong resident. He has lowered taxes in each of his years in office and developed an economic revitalization blueprint to spur business investment into the city.
Jon is the Past President and Founder of the Rotary E-Club of Orlando and sits on the Board of Directors for Champions of Choice, which delivers motivational talks to children to empower them to make positive decisions in their lives with respect to drugs, gangs, and bullying. He is also a proud sponsor of the Casselberry Little League and has served as a mentor and on the Board of Fundraisers for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Florida.
Jon completed his bachelor's degree in Pre-law at Georgia Southern University and his master's degree at the University of Central Florida in Political Science. He graduated from UCF with honors and was a member of the national honor society Pi Sigma Alpha. Prior to working in politics he served as a certified law enforcement officer with the Florida Department of Corrections/Probation and Parole Services wherein he was the liaison for Circuit Court Judge Bob Wattles working hand in hand with the judge and opposing council to determine appropriate probationary sanctions for felony offenders. He also managed a caseload and was an investigator.

Brian D. Sackett was born in November 1953 in Amsterdam, New York. He graduated from Johnstown High School in New York in 1971. He married Mary L. Stoppard in Niagara Falls, Ontario on June 5, 1976; has 3 daughters, Amanda, Lindsay and Lauren; has 3 grandchildren, Sydney, Cameron and Chloe. Commissioner Sackett has been a resident of Longwood, since July 1989.
Commissioner Sackett attended Windham College in Putney, Vermont receiving a Bachelor of Science Special Education Degree, Suma Cum Laude in 1978. He received his Master of Education-Mathematics and Science Degree, Suma Cum Laude from the University of Central Florida in 1994. Then, in 2000, he achieved National Board Certification as Middle Childhood Generalist at the University of Central Florida.
Commissioner Sackett was Principal of Windham Elementary School in Vermont; teacher of Third and Fourth Grades at Pine Crest Elementary School in Sanford; teacher of Third and Fourth Grades at Wilson Elementary School in Sanford; and teacher of Fourth Grade, and at present, teacher of Fifth Grade at Woodlands Elementary School in Longwood.
Commissioner Sackett’s professional memberships include PTAs, School Advisory Committees of Wilson Elementary, Woodlands Elementary and Lake Mary High School, National Board of Certified Teachers (County President and now as State and National Liaison), Seminole Education Association and former Adjunct Professor for University of Central Florida.
Among Commissioner Sackett’s recognitions and awards are: Teacher of the Year numerous times; SCPS Foundation Grants in literature, Becky Bailey Discipline strategies and Science Strategies; Elected City Commissioner of Longwood, Florida from 2003 to the present; served as Deputy Mayor of Longwood in 2003; and elected Mayor in May 2008. Commissioner Sackett became an ordained minister in March of 2006.
